JAZZ PIANO
The Music Faculty at Laval University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Jazz Piano
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Teaching applied jazz piano at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Teaching jazz / popular music theory at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Coaching of ensembles (combo, stage band)
- Active engagement in scholarly and creative activities (concerts, compositions, publications)
- Direction of graduate theses
- Participation in faculty and university activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate in music or the equivalent in experience
- Expertise in jazz piano performance
- Relevant experience in arranging and composition
- A record of artistic achievement recognized by one’s peers
- Open-mindedness towards musical diversity
- Must be team-oriented and willing to collaborate with colleagues
- Mastery of spoken and written French
- Familiarity with spoken and written English
SALARY AND BENEFITS: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement
